The Comet football game this past Friday night against Kettle Moraine Lutheran was filled with mixed emotions and crazy events. Considering the far drive, the fan turnout was more than expected. Students, parents, and alumni all showed up to cheer on the team as they made their first playoff appearance after a long time.

The student turnout ranged between 20 and 30, compared to Kettle Moraine Lutheran’s huge student section, which is triple our size. Delavan parents and students cheered together to help lead the comets to victory. The cheerleaders were also a driving force in keeping the positivity up during the cold night. They tried new routines and engaged with the student section to create more applause.

As the night went on and the team faced several downfalls, the fans continued to be rowdy and eventually turned the score around. This coming Friday, the boys will compete against Racine St. Catherine’s for the regional champion title.
