As Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, we decided to find out how students at DDHS are celebrating the holiday.
Who said your lover had to be real? When asked which fictional character they would like to have dinner with, students had a variety of answers: Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”, Raven from “Teen Titans”, Prince Naveen from “Princess and the Frog”, Princess Zelda, Flynn Rider from “Tangled” and Daniel LaRusso from “Karate Kid.”
If your lover is in fact real, 30.7 percent of students say the best way to ask someone to be your Valentine is with a poster while 21.4 percent say that just a card or note is acceptable.
Speaking of asking your Valentine out, 53.6 percent of students would prefer a heart-shaped pizza over heart-shaped chocolates. The food is important, remember that!
Of course, when asking your special someone to be your Valentine, it’s important to play music.
“Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” sung by Frankie Valli is 58.6 percent of the student’s Valentine’s jam. It’s closely followed by “Love Story” sung by Taylor Swift at 43.6 percent.
Now who said Valentine’s Day had to be about partners and dating? On Valentine’s Day, you can celebrate all of the loves in your life. 46.4 percent of students said the best part of Valentine’s Day is spending time with their friends and giving gifts. 48.8 percent of students just enjoy the vibe around the holiday.
