Just like your brain, your muscles are, well, muscles, and they need to be constantly trained in order to stay in prime condition. DDHS’s coaches are well aware of this and make sure their players are in physical shape year round through programs like Bigger, Faster, Stronger and GTS. Since these aren’t the only ways students stay locked in during the offseason, we interviewed several soccer, football, and volleyball players who (at the time of writing) are all coming off amazing seasons.
I interviewed students from the soccer team as a group who after giving a couple of less-than-clean answers told me they all played club over the offseason. Some of the clubs mentioned were MLS Next, SC Wave and others like them.
The Volleyball player I interviewed also said she played for a club team when she wasn’t practicing for the Comets, and I’ve seen other players at Bigger, Faster, Stronger over the summer.
Football Players are regularly seen in the weight room preparing for the fall season by lifting. Nevertheless, staying in shape is critical to being successful here at DDHS, and we’re lucky to have such dedicated athletes who are willing to put in the hard work necessary to compete in our conference.
